Palm Springs - a city created in the desert where old people go to play golf until they die. Its very kitsch and retro, and extremely hot in the summer, but freezing at night. It also plays host to the Palm Springs International Film Festival and has its own walk of fame to rival that of Hollywood. What some of you may not know is that there is a forest in the desert. It was created by the water trapped in the movement of earth and the faultline in California. It made mountains in an area that was flat and created the perfect environment for a forest to grow. When we went to Palm Springs there was a really bad bushfire that was going on really close by that claimed the lives of a couple of firemen. This is why there is a slight haze in all my photos.

That's James GIRL Jones to Will & Grace fans!

Palm Springs has some great architecture too.

We decided to take the Palm Springs Aerial Rotating Tramway (that's 360 degrees of WOW!! - see the brochure) and go and see the San Jacinto National Park in the mountains surrounding the desert

My travel buddies, Catherine, Loic and Roland - all French.

This was the sunset driving home after our day out in the desert.
