The White House is just down the road from where we live and opposite to where Veronica is interning, so we decided make a trip down there even though the weather was pretty crap.

The flag has been raised to half mast to mourn the death of former President Gerald Ford - not something you see that often, so it was pretty cool.
Opposite to the White House was a tent that was put up and manned by people advocating peace and protesting against nuclear weapons and all that jazz. They had been maintaining a vigil for 24 hours, 7 days a week since 1981.
This was a statue of President Jackson which is in Lafayette Square opposite to the White House

The Treasury is just next door to the Pres' digs.

The Washington Monument in the mist - even though it's grey, it's still beautiful.
